Two Outdated Bathrooms and an Unwelcome Discovery
When Eileen called us, the mission was clear: transform two tired bathrooms in her son’s Rancho Peñasquitos condo into modern, functional spaces that matched the fresh aesthetic of the rest of the home. She wanted these bathrooms to look as polished as the house’s existing floors—and fast.
Rancho Peñasquitos, nestled between the hills and canyons north of San Diego, is known for its peaceful neighborhoods and picture-perfect family homes. So naturally, the bathrooms needed to reflect that same clean, cozy charm. Everything was set for a straightforward double upgrade. That is, until demolition day unearthed something no one was thrilled to see: mold.
Yep—hidden behind the walls was a small science experiment growing where plumbing meets poor ventilation.
The Process: Pivot, Plan, and Power Through
Instead of letting this unexpected twist stall the project indefinitely, our team jumped into action. First, we paused the bathroom work to bring in specialists to safely and thoroughly handle the mold remediation. We coordinated with the right people to ensure the issue was resolved completely and that the space was safe before resuming work.
With the mold officially out of the picture, we got back on track. Eileen had a very specific request: she wanted the new bathroom flooring to match the existing floors in the rest of the home. A detail like this may seem small, but it’s the kind of thing that can make or break a remodel. So we took the time to source the right materials and ensure a seamless look throughout the condo.
Throughout the process, our team maintained open, friendly communication. Adriel, one of our standout crew members, became a point of praise for the family. He was noted as being “easy to work with,” which—when you’re navigating both a renovation and a surprise mold issue—is a pretty big deal.
The Solution: Two Gorgeous Bathrooms and Two Happy Homeowners
Despite the mold-related hiccup, the bathrooms came together beautifully. The final result: two bright, clean, and contemporary spaces that flowed naturally with the rest of the home. The updated flooring looked as though it had always been there, and the fixtures added just the right touch of modern style.
Eileen and her family were thrilled—not just with how everything turned out, but with how the situation was handled from start to finish. She sent a kind note to our team:
“Chelsea, on a personal note, it’s been a pleasure working with you and the team! Please feel free to use us as a reference; would definitely recommend you to others!”
And if that wasn’t enough, she also left us a glowing five-star review:
“Adriel did a great job and was easy to work with. The bathroom turned out fantastic!”
At the end of the day, it wasn’t just about upgrading bathrooms—it was about turning a bumpy renovation ride into a smooth landing, right in the heart of Rancho Peñasquitos.
